About me

Hi, I'm Will, thanks for visiting my website.

I think the secret to a great photograph is to keep things simple; make people feel relaxed and capture their true emotions for a photo they will treasure forever. Whether I'm hired as a wedding photographer or a commercial photographer, I carry this method throughout my work.

This has always been my technique; no stiffly posed shots, no "everyone laugh" type commands, just honest, unposed and candid moments.

I'm a Dorset local which means I'm spoiled for choice when it comes to photogenic scenery but I'm happy to travel anywhere and work with others who appreciate an honest and simple approach to work.

Outside of photography I love spending time at the beach with my wife and baby son. I also enjoy listening to music (anything from the Beatles through to De La Soul), travelling the UK and beyond to visit friends and a pint of cold cider in the sun (I'll always be a Somerset boy at heart).

Please take a look through my portfolio and use the contact form below if you'd like to chat about your wedding plans, corporate event, family photos or anything else you think I could help out with!

A note about sustainability

One of the main foundations I have built my photography business around is sustainability. But what is sustainable photography and how does it work?

I'm still figuring this out myself; I know that I want my work to have little, if not zero, impact on the environment. Here are a few ways in which I attempt to achieve such targets:

  • For any wedding or commercial photography I carry out, I will pay to offset the carbon generated from my travel to and from the event.

  • I try, whenever possible, to buy used camera equipment thereby saving waste and global resources.

  • I donate a portion of my profits to a number of charities which are fighting to protect the planet and our fragile environment.

  • I ensure that any suppliers I use are local and/or have a sustainable  philosophy which aligns with my own.

  • Whenever I go out photographing landscapes, I will not head home until I have filled a large bin bag with litter (sadly this is much easier than it sounds).

  • In my day-to-day life I try to create as little waste as possible and avoid buying new clothes if I can (fashion iis the world's second largest polluting industry).

There is still much I can do and I welcome any suggestions on how I could improve my sustainability and environmental work so please let me know if you think of anything!
